Berkshire/Tamworth cross from Montana. These ooze flavor on their own. Couple that with hickory smoke and we are in heaven. These butchered in a 13 oz. portion and are fully cooked. All you need to do is get a little crust on them by pan searing them up to temperature and serve. Food is ready in less than 10 min. You're welcome!
Preparing and cooking could not be easier:
Step 1: Thaw then pat dry with a cloth towel (or paper cloth)
Step 2: Season with some Hickory Bourbon seasoning (if you want a little crust on your sear, make sure your seasoning has a little sugar in it)
Step 3: Get your pan up to a medium high temp - we like to use butter for this situation because we like the flavor but use whatever oil that you like.
Step 4: Place the seasoned ham steak in the pan and listen for that sear
Step 5: Sear for about 2-3 min on each side - you just want it to sear and create that crust
Step 6: Remove and place on a cutting board
Step 7: Eat.
